Hook
You filled the BMC, but you're not sure if the data is real or just what you assume customers want. The canvas is only as good as the intelligence behind it. A beautiful BMC built on assumptions is just a pretty picture that will fail when the market votes with its wallet.
The Shift
A BMC built on assumptions is just a pretty picture. [R-2] A BMC built on market intelligence is a decision-making tool. [R-3] The difference is not the canvas—it is the discipline of testing each block with real data. For Agri-Science value chains, add a stakeholder map layer to Customer Segments because your market includes distributors, cooperatives, and regulators, not just end consumers.
How to BE It
For each of the 9 blocks, write one question that tests your assumption. Example: For Customer Segments, ask "Who actually paid for this last quarter?" For Value Propositions, ask "What did they say was the deciding factor?" If you cannot answer, you have a research gap. Close the gap before you present the canvas.
Do This Now
Review your BMC from the previous lesson. For each block, write one testable question. Duration: 15 min. Self-check: Every question can be answered with data you can collect this month.
Summary & Self-Check
The BMC translates market intelligence into strategy. [R-2], [R-3] But it only works if each block is validated with real market data, not internal assumptions. The canvas is the map; market intelligence is the compass.
